For the better part of my life I have been involved with the building industry.  As a young boy I would help my dad wire and plumb houses.  When I was a teenager, I worked with Campbell Builders in all aspects of house building.  Then as I got older I worked summers during high school and college as an electrician with Clemson University.  When I got out of college, I went to work with the phone company as an installer/repairman. Instead of taking a transfer to Florida, I went to work with my brother in his house building business.  Always wanting to own my own business, I started a home repair business and worked in it for several years until in 1989 I decided to start my home inspection business.  I have been doing this ever since.  I became a certified member of the American Society of Home Inspectors(ASHI).  I have since left ASHI as I felt they were getting to close to marketing to real estate agents. I became a certified electrician and a certified plumber just to prove to my clients I know what I am talking about.  Anyone can TELL you they know but becoming certified by the State of South Carolina proves it.  I am state licensed in South Carolina as a home inspector and have testified in several court cases being deemed an expert witness.

I feel there are too many inspectors marketing their services to the real estate agents and NOT to the person who hires and pays them--THEIR CLIENTS!!  If you market yourself to real estate agents, you must walk a fine line between doing a good job and reporting on items found as you should and pleasing the real estate agents so they will continue to throw work your way.  I totally feel this is a severe conflict of interest. I work ONLY  for my clients with NO ties to real estate agents, builders, or insurance companies. When you get a home inspection done by me, you can rest assured I am working for you and ONLY for you.

I hope this tells you a little about me. Please feel free to call me with any questions you may have.
